PHUKET TOWN

- Where is The Heart of the Great Sea Dragon of Indian Ocean? What is Baba culture? Are there Chinese on Phuket? What was here before tourism? What is here after the tsunami? Tin mining cleared the way for a European culture to land on what they called Junkceylon together with the 5000 year old culture of the Chinese to land on what the locals refered to as Chalang resulting in the foundation of the town Tongkah. Today we say Phuket and Phuket Town. Characteristic for the town is the Sino-Colonial architecture which today is more and more preserved and showed. Phuket Town old town is what one could call China Town.
